Perelman School of Medicine Announces 2022 Teaching Awards

Congratulations go out to 13 amazing educators who recently were chosen to receive the “Dean’s Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching” at an Affiliated Hospital of Perelman School of Medicine. For all those that have attended Medical school realize, that having great professors and attending physicians is certainly a blessing.

One of the physicians that were honored with an award was Temitayo Ogunleye MD. She is the associate professor of Dermatology as well as the department of dermatology’s assistant director of equity, diversity, and inclusion. She earned her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine, completed her dermatology residency at the University of Michigan, and worked as a clinician-educator fellow at the University of Pennsylvania to further her interests in medical education and grow her current niches of hair and skin color, and hair disorders. In addition, she is the department of dermatology’s assistant director of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

She earned her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine, completed her dermatology residency at the University of Michigan, and worked as a clinician-educator fellow at the University of Pennsylvania to further her interests in medical education and grow her current niches of hair and skin color, and hair disorders. Doctor Orgunleye got her MS degree in healthcare innovation in 2021 from Penn and became medical director at Pearlman dermatology clinic in January of 2022.

She is also busy in her clinics and on inpatient consults at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, she engages in active medical teaching and dealing with residents and medical students. She is a GME Ombudsperson and a member of her department’s Clinical Competency Committee. She is also a member of the Alliance of Minority Physicians’ Faculty Forums committee, a resident-led group comprising of minority attending physicians, fellows, and residents devoted to developing a diverse workforce.
